Who Are These Guys?

I know that's going to be a common question. Who are we, and why should you work with us?

We are the people behind Abnormal Entertainment, LLC. In the past, we have made a few movies, worked in radio and had our hands in many areas of entertainment. Over the past few years, we've focused on building Cinema Head Cheese, a popular and well respected movie review and news site. From there, we built the Abnormal Entertainment podcast network. We have a current roster of twenty shows, and more are on the way. We also released two graphic novels in 2013, and we plan to release three books by the year's end. This is something we take very seriously. We promise you nothing less than the same dedication and hard work when it comes to your show and blog.

This is what we love to do. It's more than a hobby. We understand how difficult it can be to get started, and that's why we're here to help. We want to get you off to a good start, and we'd love to see you grow.

How Does it Work?

Once your account is set up, PodBuilder will create a form for you to upload your audio and give us all of your episode information. That's all you have to do.

What information do we need? The form will ask for an episode number, title (if any), post date and time, an episode description, search keywords and edit details if you have an editing plan.

From there, we'll create the post, put it in your RSS feed, schedule it to your specified date and time (allowing up to 12 hours from the time of submission, usually much less), post it to your Facebook and Twitter pages, and make sure that it gets posted to iTunes and Stitcher (once the show is approved by those services).

Your work is done once the upload is complete. Once you record and upload your show, we take over. That's how PodBuilder works for you.

Unlimited Blogging

One of the best things about having a podcast is having the ability to share thoughts, opinions and ideas with others. As a podcast listener, it's always nice to get bonus content between shows.

While daily podcasting isn't always possible or practical, blogging is a nice way to fill the gaps while listeners wait for a new episode. With the ability to blog online or through a phone app (which I'm doing now), you can share thoughts while you watch television, wait in line, or lie in bed.

Every time you blog, it posts to your RSS feed, Facebook and Twitter, so your audience will always be able to stay on top of what you're doing. It's a great way to stay in touch with your audience and stay fresh in their minds.

PodBuilder builds with Blogger to allow unlimited blogging for up to 100 contributors. Whether you decide to go it alone or assemble a team, you can create as much content as you need.

Can I Transfer or Syndicate My Existing Show to PodBuilder?

Yes. We are interested in building our content and our brand, and one way to do that is by transferring existing shows to PodBuilder. If you are not happy with your current hosting, or you would like an additional avenue on which to promote your show, this could be the place for you.

Syndication to PodBuilder is also a possibility. If you are not already on a network, we may be a great option for you.

In either case, email, and we can discuss the details.

Why Blogger?

Some might ask why we would use and build Blogger sites instead of using a more traditional site. It really comes down to one word; simplicity.

First and foremost, we want you to be able to contribute to your own site whenever you need to. Blogger allows you to do so online or via their Android phone app. You can even blog with a text message or email. You'll also have the opportunity to allow up to 99 people to contribute to your site.

There are several popular avenues for blogging. The two most popular seem to be Blogger and WordPress. While I do like WordPress, some of the capabilities require a monthly fee. Blogger is completely free. The great thing about that is that it not only keeps our costs down, but if you should ever leave us (which we hope is just a hypothetical), transitioning your site to you will be much easier.

Blogger is also very customizable. Elements can be dragged and dropped, added or deleted, and altered in a variety of ways. It even allows for HTML editing. This makes site updates fast and efficient.

Blogger also works well with iTunes, Stitcher and feed readers. Again, our whole purpose is to make this easy for independent podcasters.

I know this sounds like a commercial for Blogger, but it's not. Based on my experience of building 27 different Blogger sites, I know this is a great way to go. I wouldn't endorse something I don't trust myself.

What is PodBuilder?

PodBuilder is a service that assists podcasters with the more difficult details of owning and producing a podcast.

We help you by building a site with blogging capabilities, creating and setting up your show's email account, RSS feed, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages, hosting your content and posting it to your site and social media outlets. We also provide logo design, video editing and audio editing services upon request.

We also have the PodBuilder Network, which is a chance to opt in and connect with other PodBuilder shows. More content brings in more search hits, and combining forces with a variety of shows can help to make that happen.

We are podcasters interested in building a creator owned podcasting community. Your content is yours, and it always will be.

Join us, let us help you build your show, and be a part of the growing community that is taking audio entertainment into the future!
